CFOS Advent Reflection – The reflection series has been designed with the intention for use during the Advent Season, but may take place at any time throughout the year.
Bible Study – Ecumenical, intergenerational study groups focus on biblical interpretation for daily living. Liberation, reconciliation, gender issues and hope in the midst of struggle are among the many topics discussed. In addition, Sabeel hosts yearly special Advent and Lenten study programs, and Days of Prayer and Fasting.
Clergy Gatherings – Pastors meet monthly to discuss common concerns, strengthen ecumenical understanding and foster collegial solidarity.
Workshops and Community Building – Addressing current affairs and introducing new theological perspectives, these workshops attempt to challenge and deepen the faith relationships of the Palestinian community, as well as to raise awareness of global issues.
Youth Activities – Ecumenical day workshops and week long summer camps provide unique opportunities for developing leadership skills, exploring the Palestinian Christian identity and issues of peace in Jerusalem and throughout the land. The youth participate in art and drama and enjoy sports and recreation.
Women’s Programs – Programs that include field trips, retreats, weekly discussions or lectures are geared toward empowering women through Bible Study, public discourse, spirituality and self-reliance.
Speakers Bureau – An ecumenical group of trained Palestinian Christian volunteers are always available to speak with visiting groups and share their life and faith perspectives.
Newsletters – An English language quarterly, Cornerstone, highlights ongoing Sabeel activities and presents theological reflections on contemporary social and political events. Arabic language statements and booklets are also published occasionally for the local Christian community.
Conferences – Palestinians and internationals are brought together to address pertinent issues of justice and peace.
International Relations – Seeking to support the inclusive peace and justice ministry of Sabeel, geographical groups of Friends of Sabeel are being organized worldwide.
